Kim Hyun Joong revealed that he has been avoiding his juniors because he felt shy about receiving their greetings. He explained that he felt like they were almost robotic as if they came from the army. He commented, "It's like we're in North Korea. I feel like I have become the leader. Receiving their bows itself seems authoritative to me."

He criticized the "weird system" and expressed his hope that it can become more carefree and casual.
