Hello. This is Keyeast.

[Playful Kiss] that had begun its long stretch of journey in the hot summer has finally taken a close yesterday night. And so, we are here to express our gratitude to all fans who have shown much concern and love and who have attended to the finale event of [Playful Kiss] yesterday.

Though there are some pitiable parts as well, we have indeed felt the strong love of everybody for [Playful Kiss] more than any other time. You who have always believed and guarded by Kim Hyun-joong ssi whom has given his best for this, I truly want to thank you once more.

Yesterday, after the event, Kim Hyun-joong ssi has left a statement, "It was an enjoyable shooting for the drama. Having met up with fans in such a long while made me really happy", as he delivered such a sentence. Kim Hyun-joong ssi who has made known that he is very much happier than anybody else for that meeting indeed left a deeper impression in the heart. With this sharing heart, I'm thus here to let all of you know about this by leaving a piece on the homepage noticeboard.

All profits raked in for this finale event is the same as what was in the previous notices. Kim Hyun-joong ssi who has always liked football has stated that he wishes to cheer on for the Korean Female Football Team which has been doing well these days. The female high-school football team who is always fighting for their dreams and yet battling out a good match of game - they have our support. Under the help of Adidas, we will be delivering our support for the football necessities and all. With the congregation of all fans, this achievement has achieved such meaningful results, and we are happy just thinking about it.

We express our gratitude to you all who have shown much love to Kim Hyun-joong ssi's [Playful Kiss] who is now a part of our family. He promises to show a better and more advanced side to him in future days to come.

MBC drama [Playful Kiss] ended its run in much sadness as it closes with a slight decrease in ratings.

On the 22nd, according to AGB Nilson Media Research Center, [Playful Kiss] that was aired on 21st October (finale episode, 16th) recorded 5.9% of ratings. This was 0.2% lower than its episode on 20th October at 6.1%.

This day’s [Playful Kiss] portrayed the marriage of Oh Ha-ni and Baek Seung-jo, as well as a happy ending amongst the people around them.

[Playful Kiss] that began to air on September 1 recorded 3.5% of ratings, after which, since then, it has been subconsequently mulling in the 5~6% array of ratings; it was not able to escape the fate of single-digit ratings.

On the other hand, SBS ‘President’ recorded 28.3%, while KBS ‘Fugitive Plan B’ recorded 11% of ratings.

Beginning from 27th onwards, [Playful Kiss] will be taken over by [Happy House].

On the other hand, SBS [President] that was aired on the same day on 21st October recorded 30.3% of ratings, and this is its first time to enter the array of 30%-plus ratings. [President] recorded 28.3% nationwide, 29.8% in Seoul. KBS2 [Fugitive Plan B] also recorded 11.0% nationwide.

Playful Kiss Half-Success, Half-Failure

MBC TV [Playful Kiss] has pulled in its curtains with its 16 episodes.

Japanese manga adapted film [Playful Kiss] is undertaken by PD Hwang In-roi who has directed for dramas like [Goong]. It stars Kim Hyunjoong from 2009′s hit [Boys over Flowers] who had began his first luxurious kick-start in that drama, which was what attracted about attention during the casting stage of [Playful Kiss].

However, being starkly different from such anticipation came the single-digit ratings of [Playful Kiss] that recorded 3.5% on its first episode, as it received neglect from the audiences.

Despite that being the case, reactions for this drama overseas is very enthusiastic. It has already sold its broadcasting rights to overseas countries like Japan, Hongkong, Thailand, Singapore, etc, 13 countries. Based on the selling of broadcasting rights alone, it has raked in about 4 billion won.

Also, though ratings for [Playful Kiss] is low, it has its popularity on the internet world where it enters the Top 5 Most Downloaded of All Time ranking chart.

Not only that, [Playful Kiss] will also be airing its Special Edition beginning 2nd November onwards through Youtube. It will feature totally different content and is spread across 7 episodes. For this, it is already attracting much attention from Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam etc.

Song Byung-jun CEO from production company Group Eight expresses, “The Youtube Special Edition is a brand new attempt to introduce TV dramas through an on-line manner, and through this unique medium video channel we have, we get to diversify our video content; it is very meaningful that way”, “At the same time where the synergy effect could be highest achieved through mediums like TV and online, it also formed a bridge to further give a chance for our Korean dramas and movies to take a leap into the foreign markets. We’re anticipating”, as he states.

This is the first drama that I'm the leading actor,
there's much that I want to say.
But it's because of the fans, everyone's support and cheer
I didn't despair and give up
Working very hard... persisting all the way till the end.
