Singer Kim Hyun Joong explained why he calls Yunho, who is 4 months older than him, a big brother.

On June 7, SBS’s Strong Heart provided a lot of fun and entertainment by having a special episode of ‘Strong Heart: King of Kings‘ with interesting talks of extraordinary guests.

The participation of both the leader of TVXQ Yunho and the leader of SS501 Kim Hyun Joong in this particular episode attracted public gaze; they’re well known for their intimate friendship.

Kim Hyun Joong said, “I even slept over big brother Yunho’s place twice.” Yunho gave a good laugh by saying, “Once, I just left the house without waking him up; he had fallen sound asleep.”

Kim Hyun Joong, who calls Yunho a big brother explained, “I have my rules. I treat people who are younger than me, but let older brothers pay for my meal. So I usually call people ‘brothers’ to who are born in the early years, and call people ‘friends’ to who are younger than me.”

Yunho was born in 1986 February 6, Kim Hyun Joong was born in 1986 June 6, and Lee Seung Gi was born in early 1987. Kim Hyun Joong has been calling Yunho as a big brother, and Lee Seung Gi as a friend.

Hence, Kim Hyun Joong explained, “When Seung Gi, brother Yunho and I eat together, big brother Yunho is always the one to pay.” and gave a good laugh.

The casts of this episode were: Yunho of TVQX, Kim Hyun Joong, Jun Ho of 2PM, An Moon Sook, Hong Seok Cheon, Park Jung Ah, Choi Hong Man, Oh Jung Hae, Kwang Hee of ZE:A, Park In Young, and etc.

1) All kinds of fans

At the end, around 350 fans were allowed to enter the live recording. According to my observation, roughly 25% Korean fans, 35% Chinese fans, 30% Japanese fans, 10% Southeast Asian fans. Keyeast even brought a staff who speaks Japanese to the scene to help translate.

Mnet 's studio is small, much smaller than the other 3 stations. Only standing zone, no seats. So normally live broadcast can only hold around 200 fans. This means normal stages, without adjustments, can only hold a maximum of 200 fans. Will elaborate on this later.

Queue, write number and check name during this timing-11pm, 4am, 8.30am, 11.30am, 2pm.

On Hyun Joong fans' age range. Most are noona and mother fans. Other than those stars who have debuted for quite a while. The rest of their fans are 13-23 years old.

2) Special Treatment

M!Countdown made a big adjustment and allowed 300 fans in. 4 angle stage! From what I know, only Yamapi used a 4 angle stage on M!Countdown before.

For 'Please', only the second part was recorded with the fans which was what you saw on the 4 angle stage. Recorded twice. 'Let Me Go' seems to be a broadcast live but didn't see Oppa during the end of broadcast.

So maybe 'Let Me Go' was pre-recorded as well. Anyway 'Please' & 'Break Down', the change of outfit and the first part were pre-recorded. [Pre-recorded means without the fans as audience] The subbed cheering were as loud as ours.

3) Oppa

Once on stage, he was very serious. Didn't even have time to wave at us. Stand on position and listen to the PD's cue and prepared for recording. I think that he must be nervous. PD told us to scream even louder during the climax of 'Please' to fit the effects. So what you saw during the 'Boom Boom', the audience screamed out loud. During the 2nd recording, Cody unnie came to tidy his outfit, tucked his shirt into his pants. So the audience went crazy. Upon seeing the fans' reactions, Hyun Joong laughed.

Fans were cheering 'Kim Hyun Joong. Kim Hyun Joong'. Atmosphere was great! Then Hyun Joong bowed to all 4 sides of the side and left. Due to the age range, very few people there called him Oppa. Most called him Hyun Joong. Japanese fans called him Leader. Maybe because it's rare to hear people calling him Oppa three times in a row, he looked at me and we shared eye-contact with 2 seconds.

On June 8th, Kim Hyun Joong guested on MBC’s “Knee-Drop Guru” and talked about his training period before his debut with SS501.

He began by describing the strict environment of his former label, DSP Media: “It’s a company that makes you fend for yourself. As a trainee, I’d clean up the recording room in the morning and run 20 laps around the field. Every day, they’d add another lap until I reached 40. We also had to eat fast.”

He continued, “When we were being trained in singing, eight of us would be in one small room and had to sing together. It was hard to concentrate on what you were singing.”

MC Kang Ho Dong commented, “Your CEO at the time is known for being quite the scary man.” Kim Hyun Joong replied, “He was hard, but we said everything we wanted to. Even if he said, ‘What do you mean you need dancers, it’s just extra expenses,’ we would still say that we needed dancer hyungs and he’d listen and comply. He was like a father, and he would call me son. He thought cutely of me.”news12

When asked about SS501’s rivals at the time of their debut, he mused, “We were half confident in our ability to stand on equal footing with TVXQ. We thought of sneakily going from behind and then bursting out in front. It wasn’t necessarily a plan, but just the atmosphere at the time. The public naturally set it up like that for us.”

Reflecting back to his debut on June 8th, 2005, Kim Hyun Joong concluded, “After our first broadcast, I teared up. I think it’s because of that sense of achievement and because I remembered everything we had gone through as trainees.”

After being known as the leader of SS501, and then as an actor, since debuting some six years ago, Kim Hyun Joong is ready to embark on a new path as a solo singer.

Having released his solo mini-album “Break Down” earlier this week, Hyun Joong becomes the fourth SS501 member to do so with Kim Kyu Jong the only one not to have released a solo album.

His title track, “Break Down“, was composed by Steven Lee and is classified as a ’south urban dance track’ which combines powerful electric brass and synth sounds to create an energetic track right from its beginning phases, and has a dynamic choreography to ensure a strong performance.

He also performed “Please“, which is a pop R&B track, featuring a beautiful piano melody and a heavy orchestra arrangement that brings out the sadness of the lyrics and “Let Me Go” as well.

Singer Kim HyunJoong exposed that he swore at the members during SS501 days.

Kim HyunJoong held his first mini album ‘Break Down’ showcase on 7-June at JangChoong stadium and kicks off his comeback in the music scene. On that day, Park KyungLim was the host for the mini fan meeting, and truthful conversation was shared with Heo YoungSaeng and Kim KyuJong.

On that day, when talking about ‘Kim HyunJoong’s crucial weakness’, Kim KyuJong said that he is scared of insects, “Last time at a filming site, I caught a dragonfly and placed it at Kim HyunJoong’s shoulder and I suddenly got swore at by him.”

With this, “I swore because I was really surprised by it. I scolded numbers and even nephew. At that time I scolded ‘nephew crayon eighteen color*’.” Kim HyunJoong said making everyone laugh.
*those are like...put into a different way here, but in Korean, they’re foul words for swearing at people..

Besides this, Heo YoungSaeng and Kim KyuJong were being asked ‘The first place that Kim HyunJoong looks in a woman’, ‘What he does when it’s time to quit’, ‘Biggest weapon of Kim HyunJoong’, etc.
