Kim Hyun Joong recently won four awards at the ’2012 Yahoo Asia Buzz Awards.’
The ‘Yahoo Buzz Awards’ is an annual event that gives awards to Asian pop stars based on their ‘buzz,’ or number of searches they received on the Internet portal site.
On December 17, the awards ceremony was held in Hong Kong, in which Kim received the 10 Years Popularity Grand award and three trophies for Top Buzz Korean Artist in Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. He has received the awards for four years in a row since 2009.
Kim won first place among other nominees, who have received love in Asia for the past ten years since 2003, when the awards ceremony has established, and received the 10 Years Popularity Grand award.
Kim also received around 1,350,000 votes, which is three times higher than the other nominees in average, to win a trophy for Top Buzz Korean Artist in Asia.
According to his agency, Kim said, “I have received these great awards at the ‘Yahoo Buzz Awards’ for four years. I’m so happy and I want to thank all my fans for giving me these awards. I will work harder and I hope you all have happy Christmas.”
Kim is currently receiving considerable attention with his first Japanese EP Unlimited released on December 12. He also ranked first on the Oricon as soon as he released his EP.
A music video for “Save Today” from his new EP ranked first on the biggest Chinese music video site Yin Yue Tai. This proves that Kim is very popular in all Asian countries, including, Korea, Japan, and China.
He will start going on a tour in January through ten Japanese cities, including, Kobe, Saitama, Nagoya, and Fukuoka to meet his fans.
