The KeyEast Entertainment rep stated, “On November 12th, Kim Hyun Joong will sing the ‘Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games‘ official theme song, “Sunshine Again” at the opening ceremony as Korea’s representative.”
Reportedly, an official with the ‘Asian Games Organization Committee’ sent a formal invitation to Kim Hyun Joong, asking if he could lend his vocals for “Sunshine Again” near the end of September. At the time, Kim Hyun Joong was occupied with filming “Playful Kiss“; however, as soon as the series wrapped up, he departed for Beijing in secret to prepare for the opening ceremony.
Director Park Sung Jin, who extended the invitation, stated, “The council desired to host a creative and high-quality ceremony; they invited Kim Hyun Joong due to his continental fame in Asia. He will take the stage with 4 representative singers from China before the climatic torch lighting ceremony, signifying harmony between the different Asian nations.”
