[News] Kim Hyun Joong reaches ‘Gold’ status from the Recording Industry Association of Japan

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong reached ‘Gold’ status from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

A spokesperson for the association recently announced that Kim’s new EP Unlimited, which was released on December 12 last year, reached ‘Gold’ status.

It is expected to pass the 100,000 mark in EP sales to reach ’Gold’ status. Kim’s single “Hit,” which was released on July 4 last year, also reached ‘Gold’ status.

Kim also showed off his power in ticket sales and proved he is a popular Hallyu star. He started holding the Japan Tour 2013-Unlimited on January 6 in Kobe. He will hold an additional concert on March 3 in Tokyo.

Kim is performing his hit songs and recently released song, which were arranged with band music. Kim has met over 40,000 people by touring Kobe, Saitama, Nagoya, Shizuouka, and Miyagi. He will meet more people in Fukuoka, Osaka, and Tokyo.

Kim Hyun Joong has been doing extremely well in Japan, receiving tons of love and support from fans. So it’s no surprise that due to great demand, he has decided to add an extra date to his tour!

The singer began his ‘Japan Tour 2013 – Unlimited‘ on January 6th, showcasing his excellent performance skills and fan service.

Fans were even upset to find that the tour had sold out completely, as buying tickets was competitive and difficult. With scalped tickets being sold at 20 times the original price, Kim Hyun Joong has decided to add an extra performance for his fans who weren’t able to purchase tickets originally. According toKey East Entertainment, the extra concert will take place on March 3rd in Tokyo.

The ‘Japan Tour 2013 – Unlimited’ will continue until early March, making stops at cities like Nagoya, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Osaka, and more.

Kim Hyun Joong and Lee Jun Ki were recently selected by netizens as the most highly anticipated male stars of 2013.

Website Sevenedum recently conducted a poll with the title, “The most highly anticipated male stars of 2013″, and received a total of 5547 votes.

After all the votes were tallied, Kim Hyun Joong grabbed first place with 30% (1691 votes) while Lee Jun Ki trailed behind in 2nd place with 22% (1192 votes). Kim Soo Hyun came in 3rd (19%), Lee Seung Gi came in 4th (13%), Park Shi Hoo in 5th (8%), and Song Joong Ki came in 6th with 4%.

Kim Hyun Joong has become the representative ‘hallyu wave’ star in Korea as well as China, Japan, and other parts of Asia. He recently released his first full-length Japanese album, ‘UNLIMITED’ which rose to the top of the Oricon daily chart and also picked up four awards at the recent ‘Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards 2012‘.

In other news, Kim Hyun Joong is currently meeting his Japanese fans through his ‘JAPAN TOUR 2013 “UNLIMITED”‘ tour while Lee Jun Ki will feature as a guest on an upcoming episode of SBS‘ ‘Healing Camp‘.

Kim Hyun Joong and Lee Joon Gi were recently selected the most and the second most popular actors.

From December 30 last year to January 16, the online education website Seven Edu surveyed 5,547 people about actors who are expected to receive the most attention in the year of 2013.

As a result, Kim Hyun Joong ranked first, receiving 1,691 votes (30 percent), and Lee Joon Gi ranked second, receiving 1,192 votes (22 percent). They were followed by Kim Soo Hyun (19 percent), Lee Seung Gi (13 percent), Park Si Hoo (8 percent), and Song Joong Ki (4 percent).

Kim is currently the most popular celebrity in such Asian countries as Korea, China, and Japan. When he released the first album, Unlimited, in Japan, he immediately topped the Oricon Daily Chart.

He also received the Popularity Award, the Most Influential Asian Artist, the Most Influential Artist in Hong Kong, and the Most Influential Artist in Taiwan at the 2012 Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards.

Lee took a break for two years as he had to do his military service. However, he proved his talent in acting and popularity in MBC TV’s drama series Arang and the Magistrate, which aired last year.

Kim is planning to meet his fans through his concerts to be held in ten cities in Japan, including Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Osaka. Lee will soong appear on SBS TV’s Healing Camp, Aren’t You Happy as a guest.
